Taking the spotlight

White Robe Lodge has taken the spotlight with six training wins in three days and stud sire, Gallant Guru represented by a similar number of winners.  The haul for trainers Brian and Shane Anderton includes the $25,000 Wyndham Cup on Sunday (13/3/2015) with Blue 'N' Gold raced in partnership with John Rosevear, the Blue 'N' Gold syndicate and the Lost Boys syndicate. Include won a $25,000 open sprint at Ashburton on Friday for owners Wayne and Karen Stewart. The stable also won with Quartet and Satin Guru at Ashburton.  Coulee and Tommy Tucker were additional winners at Wyndham.

Include, Satin Guru, Blue 'N' Gold, Coulee and Tommy Tucker are by Gallant Guru, who also sired the Wyndham winner Koxinga.

Satin Guru (ex Vital Satin) is raced by his Luggate breeders, George and Christine Cleland.  The 3yr-old filly Coulee is raced by Brian and Lorraine with Gordon Dickson,   Maurice Hampton, the Diamond, Woolshed Wednesday, Rock FM and White Flash syndicates. Coulee is the first foal of Cherry Creek, who won the 2007 Canterbury Belle Stakes at Riccarton for WR.

Quartet, who won a $12,000 maiden race, is raced by Shane and Sharon Anderton with their twin sons, Ryan and Matt.  A South Island sale yearling purchase, she is a half sister by King's Chapel to the Dunedin Guineas winner, Miss Millbrook.

Ian Nichol is a partner with Brian and Lorraine in Tommy Tucker.

Stable apprentice Jacob Lowry rode Coulee and Tommy Tucker. Another stable apprentice Courtney Barnes continued her association with Include and Shankar Muniandy rode Quartet.
