Quality crop of 3yr-olds in work

Turbulence, who was placed in her lone start as a 2yr-old, is among 11 3yr-olds in work with Brian and Shane Anderton.

Turbulence (Showcasing - Queens Move filly) ran third to Vishnu and Our Teddy Boy at Riverton in April.

Others of that age in the team are Raise You Five, Invite, Confirmed Flight, Simpatica, Worthapenny, Raise The Flag -Danalaydee filly, Gallant Guru - Enzed f, Gallant Guru - Zerperfluous f, Raise The Flag -Inferno f and Pins - Miss Aurora f. Mossy Creek, a Casino Prince - De Groove filly who showed ability at two, is still spelling with her owners, the O'Malley family at Ikamatua.

"We are in no hurry with them. We would rather wait for the tracks to improve  and get some gallops into them and find out if they have the ability to continue in work or be put aside,'' said Shane.

Raise You Five (Raise The Flag - Molly Malone), who has done three months work, is a brother to Raise You Ten, winner of the listed  $45,000 Gore Guineas  in January for the White Robe Lodge stable.

Raise You Ten has been back in work for two months.

Invite (Raise The Flag - She's Snubbed) is a half-sister  to Include (by Gallant Guru), winner of the 2014 Dunedin and Southland Guineas and 2015 South Island Breeders' Stakes for WRL.

Danalaydee (by Danasinga), dam of the Raise The Flag filly, has left Asaint Sheaint, winner of five races.

The filly out of Inferno is the first foal of her dam, who won the group three Canterbury Gold Cup (2000m) in 2011 and 12 for WRL.

Miss Aurora, the dam of the Pins filly, is an unraced half-sister by O'Reilly to The Meista, who won the Canterbury Cup in 2009. This is her first foal.

Confirmed Flight is by Keeper out of the Yamanin Vital mare Flight Arrival. Simpatica is by Raise The Flag. Her dam Carefree won two races.

Worthapenny is a filly by Coats Choice from Penny Rose, a Yamanin Vital mare who won four times on the flat and twice over hurdles.

The filly out of Enzed is a sister to Heroic Guru (four wins in Hong Kong) and ill-fated Valiant (eight wins). The filly out of Zerperfluous is a half-sister to Fascinate.

The first foal of the season at WRL was born on Saturday (12/8/2017). A colt by Atlante from Blush, a mare owned by Stewart and his wife, Karen. Blush, a daughter of O'Reilly - Montaine, had three fillies when bred from by Waikato Stud.

Wanganui owner-trainers Raymond and Mark Connors continued their success with horses bred at WRL when Our Jackson (maiden hurdle) and Mesmerize (maiden 2060m) won at Wanganui on Sunday (20/8/2017). Our Jackson is by Gallant Guru from group three winner De Montfort and Mesmerize is by Yamanin Vital out of Tiger Rose, an unraced mare by Danzighill from Auburn Rose. Both winners trace to Princess Mellay and belong to the family that has provided the Connors with Blood Brotha, Hypnotize, Our Jonty and King Johny.
