Gai Gushes Over Yamanin Vital
Iconic Sydney Trainer Gai Waterhouse was ebullient in her praise of ill-fated White Robe Lodge stallion Yamanin Vital as an extraordinary source of stanima after her charge, Herculian Prince, ran away with the Gp 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
She rightly pointed out that just the previous weekend his son Hypnotize had emphatically won his third Great Northern Steeplechase at Ellerslie. She could have also have mentioned his quinella ( Counter Punch and Yourtheman) in this year's Grand National Steeplechase or Climbing High's Waikato Steeplechase victory back in May.
Herculian Prince gives Waterhouse her best chance of securing a sought-after Melbourne Cup victory this year with his high--cruising speed and undoubted stanima, being admirable attributes for the Flemington feature. It is likely that his Spring campaign will first include the AJC Metropolitan Hdcp (2400m) for which he is one of the early favourites.
Sea Island, the dam of Herculian Prince, is booked this spring to be served by White Robe's exciting new sire Raise The Flag.
