Good Week For Seasoned Star
The Labour weekend period was a successful one for White Robe Lodge stallion Seasoned Star with winners throughout the country.
The Open Fillies &Mares 1200m event at Gore saw a quinella for the sire, when Leica Bud narrowly outfinished Sugar 'n' Spice. On the same programme Westend Lady confirmed her status as a highly promising racemare, scoring her second career win.
At Woodville, Royal Princess, a full-sister to the highly-talented but injury-prone King Johny, scored impressively at just her third raceday outing. King Johny from the first crop of Seasoned Star was placed in both the NZ and AJC Derbies. Like many of the family she is prepared by Raymond Connors at Wanganui. He also has the promising Our Sista in his stable, who is out of the good racemare De Montfort, a half-sister to Royal Princess.
The Skull, a speedy son of Seasoned Star, was successful at Avondale in an R90 event. He was scoring his third winhis first from the stable of Craig Ritchie.
