Hong Kong Star Product Of White Robe Lodge Stud
Flying Blue, the winner of the Group 2 HKJC Chairman's Trophy ( 1600m ) recently was bred by Brian and Lorraine Anderton of White Robe Lodge.
By Australian-based sire Piccolo, the rising star galloper is out of the Scenic mare Bright Blue, who was purchased in Queensland by the Andertons in 2006. The mare was purchased in-foal, and the resultant colt was sold at Karaka for $80,000.
While bred in Australia, Bright Blue has a very familiar Otago pedigree, being out of Regal Topaz, a daughter of champion sire Noble Bijou and the NZ Oaks winner Brown Satin (by Mellay).
Bright Blue is currently in foal to Raise The Flag and has two youngsters by ill-fated sire Yamanin Vital.
Flying Blue won his only start in NZ at Avondale and has now won three races in succession in Hong Kong.
