More Group One Success For Montjeu

The outstanding International success of boom sire Montjeu continued in the Group One  Criterium de Saint-Cloud, when he sired the quinella in the premier French event.

Fame and Glory (ex Gryada by Shirley Heights ) was having just his second raceday start when he proved too good for another son of Montjeu in Drumbeat. Both horses are trained by the master of Ballydoyle, Aidan O'Brien.

Another son, Mr Tipsy ( ex Fairy Tipsy by Casual Lies ) is one of New Zealand's most promising racehorses with a record of four wins from just six starts, He is now being aimed at the Avondale Cup by his trainers, Murray and Bjorn Baker.

Writing in this week's Informant magazine in an article on possible stamina influences, noted racing columnist John Costello stated " White Robe Lodge Stud secured one of Montjeu's earlier maturing sons, the Sandown Classic-winning Gallant Guru. A half-brother to the classy Gold Guru, Gallant Guru is now in his second season at White Robe and could prove an astute purchase. He is likely to write another stamina success story for the renowed southern nursery, once home to Mellay and Noble Bijou. "
