Notable booking

Petty Lane is a notable booking to RaiseThe Flag this spring.  The 8yr-old winner of 10 races and $116,585 in stakes, has joined the North Taieri stable of Steven Prince to continue racing and have her close at hand for mating. She was previously trained at Ascot Park by Lisa Vaughan.  Petty Lane is back in the ownership of Graham and Isabell Roddick, of Napier, who had the Danroad - Petty mare leased to The Trinny syndicate. Petty Lane won the $30,000 White Robe Lodge Francolin Stakes for fillies and mares at Riverton in April. Mrs Roddick bred Rough Habit, winner of 29 races, including 11 at group one level in the 1990s.The dual Canterbury Gold Cup winner, Inferno has produced her first foal, a filly by Raise The Flag.

Personal Escort is proving a broodmare sire of worth. Madam Victoria, the 2014 South Island filly of the Year, was among 24 winners of 41 races out of Personal Escort mares last season.
