Pleasing result

White Robe Lodge trainer Brian Anderton was particularly pleased with how Thewayiam responded to wearing blinkers to win a barrier trial at Wingatui on Tuesday (16/12/2014).

"She seemed a lot more focussed with the blinkers,'' said Anderton.

The 3yr-old filly, who finished well back in her last race, won her 800m trial by four lengths in 49.73, the last 600m in 36.17.  WR-trained horses were out in force in the five trials for maidens on a good inside grass and other winners were Coulee, Legal Tender and a Gallant Guru - The Bubble 3yr-old filly. Coulee sped over 800m in 47.41 and 35.39 and held out stablemate, Added by a neck. Legal Tender had a five length advantage at the finish of 1000m in 1.01.07, the last 600 in 37.32.

The fifth trial winner was Westend Girl, a 3yr-old RaiseThe Flag filly trained by Steve Anderton.

Include, who injured a hind leg in a float mishap last Thursday, resumed work on Tuesday."She kicked out in the float and took skin off. There is still a bit of swelling,'' said Shane Anderton. Include has confirmed her fine 3yr-old form with wins at Wingatui and Cromwell in her two starts this season.
