Wingatui Barrier trial winners

White Robe Lodge  produced five heat winners at the  Wingatui barrier trials on Tuesday (2/12/2014) ---- Whare Creek, Gallant Ruby, Fascinate, Forever Vital and Satin Guru.

Gallant Ruby ran 1000m on a dead inside grass in a swift 59.66, the last 600 in 36.37 when she outfinished the pacemaker, Hell Raiser by half a head. Gallant Ruby won first up  on a heavy track at Omakau as a 3yr-old in February and she ran third to Madam Victoria and Silhouette Noire on a dead track in a listed 1400m race for fillies at Wingatui from four starts last season. Gallant Ruby is due to resume racing at the twilight meeting at Wingatui next Wednesday.

Whare Creek, who has not raced since March, led in the other open heat and held off Hexie Hao  (winner of his last four starts) by three quarters of a length in  60.21 and 36.66. Whare Creek won fresh up at Wingatui 12 months ago.

Fascinate won a 1000m maiden heat by two lengths in 60.91 and 36.85.

Forever Vital   clocked 60.4, the last 600 in 35.77. Satin Guru ran 48.3 for 800m.

Include, an impressive winner at Cromwell on Sunday for WR, will race next at the Invercargill meeting on December 13.

"She will have a break after Invercargill and then we will look at fillies and mares races and the White Robe Lodge Handicap,'' said Brian Anderton, her co-trainer.
