Valiant giving a boost

Valiant is giving a boost to his yearling half brother by Raise The Flag in the White Robe Lodge draft for the South Island yearling sale in April. The colt will be offered by long time WR client Kathryn Abernethy. Enzed, an Anziyan mare has also left Heroic Guru (by Gallant Guru) who was sold to Hong Kong in 2013 after two wins from three starts for the WR stable. Enzed foaled a Gallant Guru filly in the spring.

Valiant (by Gallant Guru) won the open 1100m at Omakau last Saturday (3/1/2015). He has now won seven races for Brian and Lorraine Anderton with their grandson, apprentice Jacob Lowry, the winning rider on three occasions.

Another of the progeny of Gallant Guru, Gallant Dan won at Omakau, his second win in his last three starts. WRL generously donated a service to Gallant Guru to the winning owners of the John Clare Memorial Cup the same day. The race was won by Mr Nobody, raced by amateur rider and driver Michelle Northcott, her partner, Gary Rogerson and the Vino and Punters syndicate and trained by Jack and Jo Ann Gordon at Ascot Park.
